Rick Moore & Mr Lucky (LMS)

Tennessee guitar man Rick Moore has been playing his heart out for many a year now, working with some of the greats of rock and blues, from Warren Haynes to Jimmy Nalls, and turning out a pair of excellent studio recordings. There is, however, something just a little bit special about he and his band's live performances that is missing from the antiseptic studio environment, which is why I was thrilled to receive this new "live and in concert" cd.

The set kicks off in fifth gear with a Moore original, "House Rockin", and smokes its way through eight other tunes, including Albert King's "I Wanna Get Funky", and more of Moore's great writings, like "Swingin Her Stuff".

Keyboard man Tim Hinkley (Humble Pie) sings his ass off on Randy Newmans's "Guilty". These boys know how to rock the blues!
